Capped Price
Capped price programs offer customers propane at a pre-determined price throughout the heating season. This verifies that you will never pay more than the contracted per-gallon cost, even if market prices fluctuate. Fuel costs are paid at the time of delivery, so you do not overpay for your fuel. Our capped price program also does not limit the number of gallons customers can purchase.
Pre-buy
Our pre-buy programs allow you to purchase your fuel in advance, even before scheduling a delivery date. This will enable you to lock in your fuel price before market prices increase. You can pre-buy fuel for the entire heating season or only for your upcoming refill.
Prices are only stabilized for the pre-purchased amount. Additional gallons are usually billed at the market rate. In the pre-buy program, you can also earn per-gallon discounts.
Market Rate
Though propane production is usually consistent throughout the year, consumption regularly increases during the heating season. This can drive up propane prices from October to March, and prices may reduce during the summer. Market rate delivery programs allow customers to determine when they purchase propane and at what price.
For commercial propane customers, a market rate program may allow you to benefit from bulk pricing. Well-timed deliveries that refill multiple tanks could result in a lower per-gallon cost than refilling single tanks at a capped price. We may also offer a discount if you pay in cash.
2. Delivery Programs
Some propane programs are structured based on when deliveries occur. Courtesy fill programs are often convenient and eliminate the need to self-schedule deliveries. Will call programs put you in charge of scheduling deliveries, which helps make sure you only pay for the fuel you need. Here is more information on these delivery plans:
Courtesy Fill
Courtesy fill programs include automatic propane deliveries. At Forward Energy, we monitor your fuel use and schedule deliveries as needed. This helps eliminate out-of-gas situations, especially during cold weather when propane is often a necessity. We fill propane tanks to about 80% capacity. This gives the gas room to expand as temperatures fluctuate.
You may prefer courtesy fill programs if you monitor your tank levels inconsistently. This also allows us to adjust delivery schedules as your propane use changes from season to season. To participate in this program, we require that customers complete a credit application. This confirms you are prepared to pay at the time of delivery. Courtesy fill customers may receive per-gallon discounts.
Will Call
When you enroll in a will call program, you are responsible for monitoring your fuel levels. We recommend that you schedule a delivery when your tank is at 20%. Deliveries are usually made within five business days of the order’s placement. This helps make sure you do not run out of propane while waiting for a delivery.
When propane levels drop too low, this can create a safety hazard. Gas lines are often left open when tanks are empty, increasing the likelihood of gas leaks during refilling. Many states require a leak check before turning the gas back on to verify no gases escape after refilling an empty tank. Our technicians are certified to check for leaks, turn on the gas, and relight pilot lights if this occurs.
3. Budget Programs
